Austin-Travis County EMS says they are responding to reports of multiple people stabbed. The agency says one person has died and three more were injured. Austin police say they have one person in custody.
I have some friends at UT, hope everyone is safe and they have the right guy in custody. There's a kinda pointless snapchat video in the source.

I go to UT and live in a dorm next to where this all went down.
The whole campus is shaken, but not officially on lockdown save for a few buildings near where it occurred.
Students including myself are mad that it took the University until after the police apprehended the guy to send a warning out. True they have to verify, but at least some form of warning of reports of a stabbing would have been better than the radio silence we got.

Moore hill or jester?
Stay safe. The whole campus is so distressed right now, hope the worst is over... It really is way more real when people get killed or hurt in places that you hang out daily.

You'll forgive me if I don't want to out which dorm I live in on a public forum, but it is along that stretch, yes.
Apparently threats were sent to frats this morning, and most of the victims were wearing letters. This seems to be a targeted attack on members of fraternities and sororities.

More than fair enough.

Yeah, what flicky has been saying is accurate. I've heard that it was targeted at frat members (could be related to the kill frat boys grafitti?). I am genuinely appalled at campus security for not alerting us sooner.
Bomb threat at the communications buildings on campus. Holy shit.
Bomb threat at the communications buildings on campus. Holy shit.
More than one attacker? Or some POS trying to drum up more fear?
Stay safe

Jesus. That sounds terrifying. Stay safe

Unconfirmed, but the area has been evacuated.
This is a nightmare.

Sign on campus saying "tuition pays for bombs"
Building evacuated, don't think anything has come of the threat yet
Has there ever actually been a bomb threat followed by an actual successful bombing? I'm not trying to play down the seriousness of such a threat, just wondering why someone would make a threat if they really intended on doing damage
It's like warning the guy you're fist fighting "hey in about 2 seconds I'm gonna throw a left uppercut at you"
That being said, I hope our comrades over near UT stay safe.

You have a point, but if I'm on campus during a mass stabbing, and DURING that mass stabbing a sign with the word "bomb" is put up, I'm freaked out.
I'm mostly just worried of a larger conspiracy, but hopefully since the campus is on such high alert and security is being taken extra seriously we'll be ok

It's probably just hysteria
All classes for the rest of the day cancelled.
Reports of people in the area west of campus being accosted with knives, told to prove they're not in a fraternity or sorority with the implication they would be stabbed if they are.
Jesus. Fucking. Christ.
Well shit. I remember going to that underground bowling alley near/on the UT campus as a kid.
I'm surprised this is happening there.
Also, how in the world do you prove you are not in an association?

According to the rumors/reports they are targeting people wearing sweatshirts, holding a knife to them and lifting their sweatshirts. The implication being if you are wearing Greek wear underneath it, you will be stabbed.
i'm getting a feeling this is related to May Day

Ok what the fuck
This related to May Day? Can see an anarchist symbol on the "tuition pays for bombs" drivel.
Tons of Antifa groups were planning Day of Rage today... With the reports of people getting stabbed for being in frats of soros, I'm really hoping for something else, but that is pretty damn straight forward for targetting.
There are also reports of a planned Antifa riot tonight in Austin; various independent Antifa groups around UT have taken up a "kill frat kids" mentality recently. Completely unverified, but better to get this info out and be safe than sorry.

Let's not cospiracize any more than we need to.
UT allows concealed carry does it not? Those people pick the wrong kid and blam.

If Antifa is behind this, then they've lost what extremely little credibility they have left and should be labeled a terrorist organization.
Stabbing on a sidestreet near campus.
This isn't over yet, y'all. Stay safe if you're in Austin.
UT allows concealed carry, yes. Although iirc it's up to teachers discretion whether or not they're allowed in classrooms (usually they're against it).

went looking around and found this album that allegedly shows graffiti on frat buildings around UT from a week or so ago

Forgive me for being a bit ignorant on the subject of frats and soros, but how the fuck would they be related to fascism (assuming this was done by antifa)? I don't really understand the motive here.

Trying to rationalize a group like Antifa doesn't really work.
Multiple reports of stabbings from different parts of the area west of campus; most recent is one near a frat house.
Campus isn't officially on lockdown, but police are blocking areas off.
