I'm a sucker for melancholic music; so I dig Godspeed You! Black Emperor, their side band A Silver Mount Zion, and Mono. I'm always looking for more post-rock music, so what about you? Favorite songs? Blaise Bailey Finnegan is my all-time favorite by Godspeed You! Black Emperor. They would do Vox-Populai interviews and play music over them later, it adds fear and sorrow to the tracks and its very beautiful. Last and not least for me. Mono. Sleepflight Sleeping Dawn, Mono's pretty much exploded in popularity, originating in Japan. I fucking love anything by Hammock. A lot of their stuff might be more on the "ambient" side though.

o boy this threads gonna become impossible to load soon. My favorite bands are Mono, SleepMakesWaves (tho apparently they just lost a band member and I didn't care much for their latest album anyways, but their old stuff is legendary), If These Trees Could Talk, Blueneck, Ólafur Arnalds, Red Sparowes, and This Will Destroy You. Anything else I listen to is usually only like one song. Some one-off's I'll listen to: Favorite band examples: This one is a two-parter for some weird reason: And one of my absolute favorites:
