I deeply admire Gorillaz for creating a new sound by blending together various elements from many genres while still remaining accessible for a general audience. The artistic value and style just appeals to many people. Also the "The song is great but I dislike the rap part" or"The rap ruins this song" comments never get old.
Sorry for the ignorance, but where did the 2D and Russel pics come from?
From an artist for Gorillaz' instagram account.
So fucking hype. Didn't realise they'd released russel and 2d artwork either.
Hope that we will get some serious Del action this time. He was a great contribution and he is a very talented artist.
More filler, here's my favorite Gorillaz song, and one of their most underrated in my opinion. Why does nobody care about this song it's so great. So what? Is this really that big of an issue I thought I was one of the few people who actually didn't like the rap parts of their music. :v: And that's only for a few of their songs have it at that.
I've heard songs across all of their albums but I've only really sat down and listened to their first one (with the exception of Feel Good Inc. which is from Demon Days). Tomorrow Comes Today is one of my favorites off there for sure.
Man oh man.. saw the Clint Eastwood video on MTV back when I was, oh.. 10? Give or take. It was so weird and cool. Still listening to it now, and I'm 25.  Some of their stuff I love, some I don't. But they're so out there and keep doing it so well. This is another favorite;
I love this song so much, I always play at least twice whenever I hear it. Also, I like the rap bits and I don't them much because I'm sort of a rap fan myself.
Damon Albarn's greatest work is Gorillaz Listening to it you really have no idea it's basically a one-man band.
Melancholy Hill is my fav. Dunno how to express the feeling - melancholy maybe.
This makes me happy.
Damon Albarn's greatest work is Gorillaz Listening to it you really have no idea it's basically a one-man band.
Gorillaz has a lot of contributors, so I wouldn't really call it a one man band in that sense. On that note, if you really like Gorillaz, I would highly recommend listening to one of Damon's other albums, Everyday Robots. It shares quite a few similarities to a lot of his work on Gorillaz. It should hopefully keep you occupied until phase four!
I really can't wait for the new album.

if you really dig del then you should already know about this but posting it anyway and his hieroglyphics shit is really good
This song might be very enjoyable for someone who might not be familiar with Dels music. This song has a pretty strong Gorillaz vibe and also features Damon Albarn. I discovered that song relatively late and it is absolutely great. Definitely recommended.
This is probably my favorite Gorillaz song, and what I think is one of their most underrated and overlooked ones. So fucking hype for Phase 4. Hopefully the new album is better than plastic beach, which I really disliked.
first time i saw gorillaz was a music video on adult swim (i remember it being adult swim i think). the music video was 19-2000 didnt know who the actual band was until plastic beach. been enjoyin them since
Sorry bb it was just a let down for me, especially since it was their "last" album before they went on their hiatus. Thinking it was their last I didn't like it. Listening to it now it's still kind of eh. :v:

Oh man, I always loved this track for its nostalgia. When I was a wee lad my mother would sing me a lullaby with that very same melody.
I feel like our children in like 20-30 years are going to whine about "We were born in a wrong generation, you had so amazing bands like Gorillaz" This band has really affected music history.
I love every gorillaz track equally.
Also, in case anybody wants to relisten to some Gorillaz albums, their Youtube recently uploaded all of their songs from every (main) album. Happy Listenings!

I found the lack of Plastic Beach love upsetting, so I thought I would share my favorites from the album. Next month marks five years since release of the album, so I know what album I will be listening to!
I liked Plastic Beach as much as their other stuff (Although I wasn't a fan of The Fall). On Melancholy Hill, Rhinestone Eyes, Plastic Beach and Empire Ants are some of my favorite songs from Gorillaz.
Isn't there an extra song from Plastic Beach that was added a year later?
Isn't there an extra song from Plastic Beach that was added a year later?
It's not part of the actual album, but are you on about Doncamatic? It was released later during the same year, though.
