I'm looking to set up a midi workstation on my computer and I'm thinking about using FL studio producer edition. I just have a few questions about it's features.
Is the synthmaker useful and good quality?
Does the program come with preset sounds other than synths? Like does it have string, brass, and percussion sounds too?
Is the pianoroll have a good quality piano sound to it?
Do you like FL studio or would you suggest somthing else?

its cool. Piano roll saves the day if your out of sounds, a HELL lot of instruments. I got confused first how to use it. You'll catch up.
FL studio IS good. I recommend some plugins though, some are free some costs. Those that costs are excellent.
Fl Studios is really great for beginners because it is so different from any other software. You kinda have to teach yourself how to use it though.
FL Studio is okay, but there are better alternatives (IMO). But FFS don't use the stock samples or synths, because they're just awful.

1: Never heard of it. I use 3rd party plug-ins. The synthesizers that come with the program are pretty neat though.
2: It comes with percussion sounds, piano samples and whatnot. Not the greatest samples, but very editable.
3: Pianoroll does not institute an actual instrument. It's merely a tool to lay out notes, like a piano.
4: I've been using FL studio for 2 and a half years, and I still love it.
