If you don't know what Project64 is, it's an emulator that runs Nintendo 64 games on a PC and I've been having problems with it. I installed it correctly as I checked from various youtube tutorials but it seems when I try to load any ROM onto the emulator it crashes my whole PC, resulting in a blue screen to appear on the monitor, which concludes to my PC restarting. Do any of you have any ideas as to why this is happening or how I could fix this? And I meet the specs to run it, so that isn't the problem. Thanks in advance.
What version of PJ64 are you running? You could try a different graphics plugin. You can change it in the settings.
jesus christ. I've never heard of an entire computer crashing from PJ64, it's pretty straightforward. I get the feeling PJ64 isn't the problem here.
I don't think it's Project 64, Run a scan with this http://www.malwarebytes.org/mwb-download/
Is this just PJ64? Does that happens constantly when loading up a rom? Try diagnosing your RAM and see if it's in great conditions. Or maybe try out a different N64 Emulator.
I'm sure it's only PJ64 that is crashing my PC. I only got a new PC at christmas and it's been working fine until I try to use PJ64. I downloaded Project64 from this site and I get my ROMs from freeroms.com. Oh yeah and my PJ64 version is 2.1
Try 1964? I mean you can still use the project64 plugins on it, and it also has its own set of plugins as well. It shouldn't blue screen of death.
I've been having the same problem with Trine 2, and only Trine 2, for the longest time. My results turned up nothing, but you can always try running Memtest if you're getting a memory management error. Windows can also log the crash in Advanced System Settings -> Startup and Recovery settings and change the debugging option at the bottom to small memory dump. Might also possibly be undervoltage(?) from a faulty PSU rail.
I actually found out what it was, and It was the problem of me not ticking the "Protect Memory" on the recompiler settings. Causing it to crash the application, but I'm still unsure as to why it crashed my PC.
