Today, I replayed one my favorite childhood titles - Digimon World

It is a RPG in which you train digimons, and upgrade your hometown with shit like a transport service and a battle arena.
WHAT I THOUGHT WHEN I WAS 8: Like a pokemon game, except with better graphics and cooler monsters. They also pooped themselves sometimes, which was funny.
WHAT I THOUGHT TODAY: A huge grind, but a very complex RPG. Lots of hidden areas, various items and many ways to evolve your digimon. Caring for them is much more indepth than pokemon, which is cool. It is very slow, though. I wish I didn't play it again, cause now I think it is shit :(

When i was 5: fun as hell.
Now: Still fun as hell.
When I play a game I loved as a kid, I can't help but notice how dated it is. The charm is gone, and it just gets boring.
DOOM
Then: Turn on invulurability, run around, shoot shit, have insanely good fun
Now: Attempt to play it legitimately, realize that doom is actually HARD, have a really challenging insanely fun time

Then: Turn on game, play it, get annoyed as fuck and laugh as that fucking bird falls off the tower.
Now: Put in disc, data corrupt. Search for torrent, no results returned.

Then: Destroy buildings, eat people, and other shit. The mini-games were pretty cool

Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.
Then: Played the game only to have the horse, spent months just riding Epona around Hyrule.
Now: Still dicking around on Epona :v:
STAR WARS: JEDI KNIGHT III: JEDI ACADEMY
Then: Run around randomly killing Jawas in the tier 1 Tatooine missions.
Now: Play as something other than a scantily-clad female Twilek (specifically the baby-faced Rodian), progress past tier 1, actually fight Tavion, be defeated. Every damn time.
Gran Turismo 2:
Then: Holy shit this is fun but I cannot drive for shit
Now: Grinding is kinda boring but the cars are great
Oddworld: Abe's Exodus
Then: Fail fail fail fail die die die ow.
Now: Play through game, have awesome time until it's over, miss ONE mudoken, rage.

Good fucking god, this game is impossible. They expected children to play this game? I cannot beat it without my emulator's quick save/load keys.
I remember playing it on my original gamegear, couldn't get past the second level.
I still have my nintendo 64.. too bad my old cat sprayed all over the games and they won't play anymore
