How long do permabans last? - General

Title. I hear from a lot of people that permabans here don't last forever. If they don't last forever then how long do they last?

People used to get unbanned on Garry's b-day, but this year it happened on the Lamepunch update.

I thought a perma lasted till Garry's birthday and a super ban was permanent.

I was perma'd once, on this account no less. That's why I only have two thousand posts on an 07er account. It's been so long since the unbanning that I've forgotten both the username AND password to both of my alts. I got unbanned for Garry's Birthday. Far as I know, I was in the last such group, as it wasn't done this year.

Permabans last till you make another account and stay low, it's not like you're going to be rebanned unless you did something overly stupid. I also got permabanned once way back, it was a fun week and all, was unbanned on Garry's birthday...some great idea that was, experience made me learn to spell...
