Can I get banned from steam for having a cartoon featuring hitler with a swastika on his armband as - General

Hi, I don't know if this is the right section but here goes: I've red the subscriber's agreement from top to bottom and didn't find any info regarding this. So basically, I had this image as my profile picture (took it off in the meantime just in case and because there were people reporting me on Dota2, (I think because of it)). So, I love WWII games and I've been using "Reichfurher of the SS" as my nickname and my steam image is this cartoon I made from a template a while back: [IMG]http://i395.photobucket.com/albums/pp35/zero_lead/1307793940001-1.jpg[/IMG] Note that it is not my intention to shove Nazi political views on anyone. This is purelly used as an innocent joke and nothing more. My question is. Do you know if this might get me banned from steam?

I haven't been getting any problems with reports except on dota 2. Also, I've red the subscriber's agreement thoroughly and there's nothing there regarding considerably offensive, racism or other things... Well, it's not my intention to be racist there, it's just for fun, but if it's such an issue, sure I have no problem taking it off. I've contacted steam support on that matter and a friend of mine told me that steam usually bans without giving any justification. So, I'd like to avoid any trouble for the Xmas sale..

It's not exactly moderated, really it's not moderated at all as i've never seen anyone ever banned for having offensive names or avatars. For god's sake i've even seen porn avatars.

VAC will detect the swastika and your steam account will be permanently banned and if they find out where you live, you'll go to jail

If you dont get reported noone will care.

I was banned from the steam community from 2004 to 2012 for having a swastika in the background of a guy holding a rifle. (Only reason I got unbanned was because I apologized greatly. It also helped that I'd been banned for so long.) So bottomline, don't put any nazi stuff in your avatar on steam. Just not worth it. A damn shame that we can't out our opinions just because it clashes with what the majority likes. Freedom of speech, what's that?

I'm talking german nazi swastika's too.

i doubt anyone who was there during ww2 will be playing on steam (they only play wii bowling during times between hibernation)

I remember in black ops I had an emblem that was a skull with a swastika on its forehead. One time on a server there was a massive argument about it that involved everyone in the server but me, I stay out of that shit :v:

I think it's kinda ridiculous the fact that they ban indiscriminately about these things. There are 2 different things: 1 - Showing off nazis as an innocent joke (my case) 2 - Showing off nazi symbolism because one represents the ideology Most game platforms do not care about this. They are banning by formality and not by substance. Oh well, I changed my logos and names not to feature any swastikas or other things that may be linked to nazi ideology.
