Me and my buddy used to play the game a lot during 2009 summer I believe it was. I think the game itself was awesome, it was really fun leveling up and getting achievements besides killing zombies ofcourse. When school started, we kind of stopped playing it, still don't know why. Sadly, I don't have the game anymore.
Some questions: How many players still play the game? How many new features were put into the game in 3 years(maps, enemies, weapons etc.; I believe the game had like 5 maps in 2009)? Is the game worth the money? Lasting appeal?

Lots of people will still play it, and rest assured the sale will bring more people in. As for more content there has been a ton of stuff added in since its released.
It has the same enemies unless the developers are doing a holiday special (christmas, halloween, etc), but there's a ton more weapons and maps. I still play it pretty often, either with friends or just going on random servers.

They've added some more content and goodies, personally I find the game play a lot more endearing than L4D. Pick it up!

I always remember the husk being in the game. Although, I also can't remember when I got the game.
The husk wasn't in the game from the start, it was added a couple months later, possibly at the Halloween update.
Oh well. Point is, the game is still damn fun.

If you are going to get Killing Floor, I think you should get the KF gold edition that is coming out June 1. It will include all the character packs and a unique female character that is exclusive to gold edition owners. Its about 33 dollars.
I bought it for a couple friends in addition to buying it myself. Well worth every penny.
You should definitely purchase it, but I'd wait until next week when it goes 85% off (or 'till the gold edition comes out). It still has plenty of players, they've added some new weapons since then, it's definitely worth the money.

Do it. It's hard as hell, which sort of curbs my enjoyment of it, but it is definitely good at what it sets out to do.
i'd say the only game on steam worth its price. Yes. definitely get it.

Definitely get it. Tripwire's ongoing support is second only to Valve, and even then they do better holiday special events. It's most fun with a group of friends. I have some very fond memories of this game.
It's quite a fun game for a bit of fun with some mates. You really do need a mate to play it with you though, otherwise you'll have people who will weld you out of the room and laugh at you. You'll then be raped by about 10 clots..
