They do see better in the dark.

i wouldn't count on it! Cats get to see brighter lights than that i think when strolling around outside! cars, spot lights, etc etc.
So long you're not taking a picture of it every five seconds, it should be fine.
Doesn't flash usualy do more harm then good unless its a really good one?
As long as you only take pictures within reason, its fine.
