• Piece of Shit Xbox 360 is RROD'ing

This is the second 360 I've had, sold the first one on eBay because it was doing this. I was in the middle of playing Skate, and it froze. Rebooted with no disc, and it RROD'd. Now, it either boots to the home screen and freezes, or RROD's. Should I get another one? Anyone know how to fix this shit? Does it matter that I always leave the damn thing plugged in? I know how touchy these fucking things can be...
ha just happened to me like five mins ago
I've never had an xbox get the RROD and I had my first one for 3 years and my second one I've had for 5 months. Also the first one broke because I fucked up the disc drive, it wasn't a RROD
Do the 'squeeze fix' look it up on youtube. It fixed my xbox for about a month, enough for me to complete GTA4. However you will need to get it repaired eventually as it is only temporary.
Send it to microsoft, even if you don't have warranty it's still completely free. And if you really don't like it just get a PS3
I try and fix it for you if you want, by reflowing the GPU. No, I'm not talking about some shitty "overheating"/towel trick, X-Clamp mod or baking it in a conventional cooking oven. Your Xbox 360 has a seizure and then died. Feel free to cry.
Dude if it's the second one that broke, get a PS3, or if you can afford it a decent Gaming PC, games for windows can link up with xbox players anyway and you can even play them with an xbox controller, so it's not like you can complain about not being used to the controls.

My second xbox 360 died on me too. I've decided not to buy another one and If I buy another console it will be the PS3.
my friends xbox got rrod then he gave it to me and i fixed it now i have two
Vacuum the top, bottom, sides, and the power supply fixed mine then unplug and replug the power supply back in if that works you owe me 20 bucks
Take all of the plastic off of it, put it in the oven at 410 for 5 minutes.
Why are people so impatient? Send it in and get a new one.
Why are people so impatient? Send it in and get a new one.
If it's out of warranty, it costs $99 to fix, for it to happen again. So, happened again this morning. It's not RROD'ing as much but it freezes at the home screen. How the fuck do I fix this piece of shit Microsoft product? [editline]16th October 2010[/editline]
Yeah, cause everybody wants to play shadowrun.
Hey, I like that game. [editline]16th October 2010[/editline] Spoke too soon, it's red ringing again. Trying towel trick. [editline]16th October 2010[/editline] Cleared the system cache by going to System Settings > Memory > Clear Cache. Deleted all the demos and shit that are expired, and rebooted. Froze again, so I took the HDD out and let it run for a bit. Shut it off, put the HDD back in, and it's been fine so far.
My 360 (She's my first) is still alive, you want to know why? Because I treat her with love!
Since December 2006 I've had 6 RRODs. Fuck Microsoft.
Stop buying Xbox's, get PC.
Just try the X-clamp fix. I've done it on my first 360, and the broken one a friend gave me. Worked both times. Check around on Google for the needed parts.
Get it repaired for free. Oh Wait.
I've gone through 6 Xboxs, no joke.
After the second I said fuck this i'm getting a PS3.

Wrap it in a towel and let it run for an hour. No joke.
destroy it, put it out of it's misery
I highley reccomend getting an elite or the newest type of xbox edition eg: MW2 or Reach edition. As they are a bit more expensive but also have like a 3% chance of getting RROD.
Get a decent PC and plug your Xbox 360 controller into it. /threadend
problem 360?
strip it down to the mother board and heat gun it. The problem is that the solder on the mother board cracks under the CPU and GPU because the thing flexes when it gets heated up, then cooled down. If you strip it down to the mother board, and take a heat gun to it and get it just hot enough to melt the solder. Its what the stupid towel trick is trying to achieve, but the heat gun gets hot enough to actually work. I have fixed a few 360s this way. Watch this video here, I can give advise if you need it.. My xbox got the RROD the beginning of summer, I took a heat gun to it and its worked ever since. I use it almost every day.
