Hotel Books reminds me of Being As An Ocean (same label I think), I'll have to check them out. Imogen Heap makes some nice emotional music: And something perhaps more up your alley:

I really love this tune, but after I read into the lyrics and I realize how they pretty much mimic my life at this point. So, now it's my sad song.

When you know Nick Drake's story, the already depressing music gains a whole new bleak dimension. Been feeling a lot like this music lately.
Pompeii by Bastille. I won't post a music video, because you probably already know it. The song itself doesn't make me feel sad; it's not a bad song, although it was overplayed to hell on the radio. It makes me feel sad because of where I was in life when it came out, and it still reminds me of that time. I hate when things like that happen.

It either makes me wanna cry and/or sends shivers down my spine.
Broken by Gorillaz is what recently makes me feel a lil' better in those days. It fits my current situation of a heartbreak of mine, where my ex just starts ignoring everything of me, not answering me, pretend I never existed and not saying me the truth. I so heavily miss her as a friend and as a girlfriend.
"The song has layers of meaning to me, personally, but I suppose what is most easily gleaned is that it's about growing apart from someone or something that is/was dear to you - then realizing what you have lost, and wishing that you could go back." -Wolfgun via Twitter (1, 2)

.
Now this one sounds perfect for when my mind is full of shit that I can't deal with. It's that crazy droning sound that does it mostly, with that muffled piano just randomly plonking away in the distance which is just icing on the cake. Speaking of songs that fuck with my mind... I assume that confusion is a feeling too. And confusion is definitely the most prominent feeling whenever I listen to these two songs.
