I know for some people its impossible , but if someone had lots of money and tried buying the things to make a portal device, what would be the estimated cost to make a portal device?
If it's scientifically impossible, no amount of money would be able to make it work.
7 million moon rocks, a blue and orange goo, and some lemonade.
just saying if it was possible, what would be the estimated cost?
About 9 quadrillion.
You cannot tell the exact price, for the things needed to make a portal gun do not exist and is impossible to create.
Well, apparently the device is more valuable than the organs and combined incomes of [subject hometown here]...
i said estimated not exact.

POR£AL$
Not too expensive, just 1 set of laws of thermodynamics, couple fundamental rules of the natural world.
You can't put price on something that's impossible to make or doesn't exist.
The end.

If scientists spend all this money researching something that can't exist, they would take forever, right? They'll spend money to further their research project that will go nowhere.
Therefore: Infinity dollars.
If it was possible it would likely cost several million dollars
You have to have some formula of estimation, or a basis to estimate the cost on. You can't estimate for something that CANNOT exist. Just saying "if it were possible" doesn't make it suddenly possible to estimate a cost for.
Around frooglepoopillion.66 dollars.
more than the cost of 55.4 million perfectly good human bodies.

it IS that simple. the problem would be getting the glowing black hole-ish part in the middle of it.
[editline]26th April 2011[/editline]
it is that simple in THAT universe i mean.
Anything is possible with money.
Is it currently not possible under current circumstances? You aren't throwing enough money at it then, because thats how you get things done.
I can guarantee that 90% of the cost will be in the [b]MINIATURE SINGULARITY THE GUN IS BUILT AROUND[/b].
Probably the same as a couple nuclear reactor plants.

I'm pretty sure it's not impossible, but we just don't have the technology to do it yet.
If possible it would be equal to the U.S's debt

that post needs more funnies/winners/and/or zings
It fucking lets you create potential energy for free. Therefore it is impossible.
guys how much is optimus prime i wanna buy him plz tell me
i mean if he were real
Hey guys what would be the estimated cost of something fictitious.
Few hundred billion, most likely.
I mean, the ability to pass through infinite amounts of spaces in the matter of a second.
Also you guys who are bitching about the portal device being fictitious, just have some damn imagination for a moment.
