I've never really got how stocks work. If you buy a stock, you buy a part of the company, yet what the hell do you really own? Do you own part of the workers? Part of the revenue? Can somebody enlighten me?

you own a say in decisions plus you get to attend meetings
You own a percentage in the say of how a company should be handled. The more stock you have, the more control you have of the company. So when you buy a stock part of a company, you buy a minuscule ownership of that company. This stock won't allow you to do much, but you can sell them to the people who wish to gather parts to gain more ownership of that company.
Don't you also get that % of the revenue as well? If you buy a stock worth 10% of the company you get paid 10% of the companies revenue?
