How can I check the value of baseball\basketball cards without paying to signup?

I have about 68 baseball cards, and probably over 100 basketball cards that are all in almost mint condition, and I saw an ad on craigslist saying he wanted to buy sports cards, and he'd take normal ones as well as collector type ones.

I'm pretty sure I don't have anything worth more then a few bucks, but just to make sure, I wanted to look up some of the cards that I think might be worth more then he would give me so I could ask for more for those cards, or just put them aside.

Problem is, each site I go to wants me to pay for a membership just to see the prices, and a lot of them don't even have that many prices listed.

So is there anyplace where I can check the values of these?

Baseball cards are worthless unless they're from like the 40's or earlier.

That isn't even remotely true. Misprints can up the cards value, along with a BUNCH of other factors.

You didn't read what I said, did you? Of course a common one isn't worth shit. I said that if there's misprints etc. then it can be worth a few bucks more.

Why don't you just leave? I'd rather get a few bucks then 50 cents, I'm clearly not trying to make a fortune seeing as how I'm selling them to a guy who posted on fucking craigslist.
