How did Yugioh end? - General

I saw a new and improved version of yugioh today for the first time in 3 years. What the fuck happened to this show? Who are these people? When did Joey and Yugi and that other girl that no one cared for go? I'm on vacation and I had it on Cartoon Network. Then I saw Yugioh 5th dimension or some shit like that, so I posted here. Just wondering.

That show seemed to show random episodes of random series on TV. I was always confused by it.

They get sucked into Egypt through a board game. Yami Yugi battles Bakura, they find out Yami Yugi's real name, they use it to defeat Bakura, they go back to some Egyptian shrine in real life. Yugi battles Yami Yugi, somehow wins. Yami Yugi goes off into the light, everyone lives happily ever after.

I watched the first few episodes of GX and then stopped watching. I miss those weekends of getting up at 7:00 and watching Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh.
