In high school my friend Joe and I were rummaging through some old books in the back of the art room. After flicking through a few dusty anatomy books and the classic "how to's" over random concepts, we found a drawing among the (slowly deteriorating) pages of an art textbook. The drawing is on a 8 by 6 inch cut of medium sketchpad paper. The drawing is a gestural, or abstract piece of some sort. On the bottom left hand side of the paper is 3 lines written in pencil. On the bottom right of the paper, a signature also in pencil, which reads, "Joan Hall '91." Upon flipping the paper over, you witness a mostly blank page. In the middle of the mostly blank page, are three words that I have yet to fully determine. As far as I can tell, it says, "To George today." Being scrawled in a fast, cursive handwriting makes this a bit difficult to read. We found this nearly four years ago. Joe had tried to find out who the owner of this drawing was, but gave after a few days. Cutting our losses, we simply hung it along with some of his favored pieces on his wall. I moved in with him in October 2012, and the drawing hung there still. I recently had a dream in which contacting this artist was of some sort of importance. For what reason I don't know. But I have had the overwhelming obsession to find this person, whoever they may be. For no real reason in particular. The reason I am posting this is for some insight on how I could somehow reach this person, wherever they may be. I need to know more about this drawing. About why it was left in that book. Though My posts are minimal to none, I often spend time browsing the corridors of threads facepunch has to offer. Through the good, bad, and bad, and I have come to the solid conclusion that the residents are resourceful. Very resourceful. I need insight. So where can I start looking? Who could I call, or contact? If there's any sort of information I failed to include that would help in finding this person, just ask. I'll do my best to give as much more insight as I can. Oh, and here are images of the drawings. Note: my phones camera is broken, none of my roomates were home to take the picture for me, so the images are terrible tablet quality. Sorry, but I would have felt shittier not posting the images at all just because of that. I'd rather skip past the, "Let's ridicule this chump" stage. -H.
doesn't that say Marge, not George? :v:
hey guys let's ridicule this chump
It looks like something someone would doodle while on the phone
contact the school you found it at look in their yearbooks, see if you find a joan hall in the two yearbooks that would have shared 1991 once you get a picture use facebooks new graph search to see if there is a joan hall that says her high school was where you found it -- internet detective

I could try to find the same book at the school, but it's a long-shot since I have no recollection of what the book looks like. Due to room changes and a change in some staff, the book has probably been moved, if not removed entirely.

It was probably obtained from another school
Check for what schools in your district have been around since 1991. Then somehow explain your story to school officials or something or somehow search a database of students (maybe through collecting yearbooks from all the schools post 1991) and look for anyone who attended in 1991 with the last name Hall and see if there are any Hall's with the first name Joan or anything similar to Joan, because Joan might be a nickname. If there aren't I would do the opposite and look for any one with the first name Joan that attended in 1991, because sometimes people can have 2 last names you know? That's all I got, sorry if my thoughts are scrambled, I'm bad at communicating ideas through text.
Maybe it's 1991, like he is 21-22 years old now? Is it a high school? I would check through 04-09 and see if anyone named Marge/George is listed? We have no idea what the author is because he doesn't indicate any name. (it seems like) [editline]9th April 2013[/editline] Wait, what is the school called?
If somebody went to great lengths to contact me over a random doodle I did several years ago I would be pretty freaked out.
Could Joan Hall/Marge possibly be the art teacher?
Could Joan Hall/Marge possibly be the art teacher?
I thought that as well. I plan on finding out what schools were around my area and 91, and moving from there. maybe old year books, like mentioned above.
Where is the school located?
