What are some good free video editors out there?

I've been working on a lot of videos, some using green screen. The only video editor in my disposal in Windows Movie Maker, and we all know how it's not good for videos that need a little more.

So I tried google, and found nothing real good. So FP, what do you consider as a good video editing program that has almost the same ability as Sony Vegas or Adobe After Effects?
