I'm working on a poem, but I can't figure out how to write out that feeling. Help would be appreciated.
I always feel sad.
Damn, already?
Maybe this should have gone in Creationism Corner.... Damn it.
But otherwise satisfied if it's truly good.
I get sad if it's a great book. I actually got really sad at the end of Watchmen, because it was so damn awesome.
Arousal [editline]12th January 2001[/editline] Fine, I usually feel a little disappointed, then desire for another book.
I was extremely angry at the end of Brisingr because the series wasn't fucking over yet. I was so content that it was about to end and I got to the last page like: What? Paolini apparently can't tell a story in less than four 20 lb. books.
Would you say "sorrowful satisfaction" is accurate? [editline]11th January 2011[/editline]
Arousal
Uhhh no.
However the ending made me feel.
I've heard of people crying over the end of books (cough, Harry Potter, cough) I personally, have a sense of satisfaction and accomplishment. If it's the end of a whole series, I feel pretty good, because now I can pick whatever I want to read next. If it's a book in the middle of a series and the next one hasn't been released yet, then that makes me pretty mad because I'm not a patient person. Hope that helps.
Satisfaction and;
I always feel sad.
I always get sad too, mainly because something I was really enjoying ended. This applies to games and movies too.
It's a bittersweet feeling.

When it is utterly fantastic I (no joke) close the book, look up with a retarded look, and whisper "Wow" to myself. Great books usually leave me shaken by the end. I then I am slightly saddened because I can't read anymore of it.
Mournful
The reader can feel sad or happy but there has to be a sense of accomplishment or satisfaction (unless you're being an ass and deliberately holding out for a sequel), otherwise I'll sit there and say "This book has made zero impact on me." So, I think satisfaction is the key.
If a book is VERY good I normally feel hungry fo more and search for more works by the author, or go online to discus it I know its a little geekish but good books have that power
Feels like shit, unless there's a sequel.
Satisfied, disapointed its over, especially if its the last in a series.
I'm usually tired and nervous because I know the essay is due in just a few hours.
I don't read books.
