This was GOTY 2012 in my opinion.
or at least tied with far cry 3
This was the biggest disappointment of 2012 in my opinion.

Okay, excluding Mass Effect 3.
This was Above Average Title of the Year 2012 in my opinion.
It's very good.

Really? I expected you to say it was shit.

If the Official Dean of Max Payne is saying it was good, it's worth checking out.

I'm kidding man I know who he is.
I really loved how they changed the location of this one, spiced up the story a bit.
MP3 is good, really, but has nothing on MP1/2. And I don't approve of the changes to Max - I just can't bear the thought that this bald, bearded, drunk, bum-like guy is the fucking Max Payne. But don't mind me, I'm just a conservative fan who played MP1/2 a lot and was in shock after all those changes in MP3.

It is usually things like family members being murdered that cause perfectly normal people to turn into a 'bald, bearded, drunk' like he is.
Well...

Kinda normal...
I am a huge fan of MP2 and I was worried about MP3 when it was first announced. Now I can gladly recommend it. It's not same as the previous 2 but it's still very entertaining.
I agree that the old Max Paynes were more memorable overall but this one probably has the most satisfying gameplay in terms of third-person shooting and has an awesome soundtrack. If you don't mind cutscenes every two minutes.

in terms of gameplay, this is a fucking huge step up from the first two.
I loved the way they made you feel foreign in this game. I felt so lost at times like Max because I couldn't understand portuguese.

Can't argue with that, with Euphoria, RAGE and all that fancy stuff Rockstar implemented it really plays better.
It's probably one of the greater games I ever played, I heartily recommend.
Bought it while it was on sale. Definitely worth it.
I never played M1 or 2, but I don't understand why people gripe about the changes like him going bald and growing a beard and all. I mean, god forbid they try a bit of characterization over him wearing the same shit throughout the whole game.
If you love cutscenes every 3 seconds, then yeah, it's a great game

I completely agree. I like this game, but the first two are some of my favourite games of all time. I really don't like what the Housers' did to Sam Lake's universe. Max used to be so sardonic, it was my favourite aspect of his character.
Plus the third is missing all those wonderful humourous details, like enemies chatting casually before you burst in and shoot them all. Every level was full of character and surprises, you really got the sense that the developers were having just as much fun as the player.

Unless you like puzzles, exploration, platforming, stealth, running from explosions, grenades or walking down a corridor without a cutscene.
One of my all time favourite games, absolutely incredible.
Great game just suffers from MGS4 syndrome, game play is miles better than its predecessors but you keep going into cutscenes and it's like goddamn it let me enjoy the improved game play.
Playing on my iMac (until I get a new PC) on Normal to High settings.

Is the multiplayer for this dead?
I can usually find a deathmatch or team deathmatch game, sometimes gang wars. A lot of the other gamemodes are pretty dead, though.

The Rockstar Pass probably isn't really worth getting at this point unless you get it real cheap, but I would still recommend getting the Deathmatch Made in Heaven DLC as it has co-op/horde mode that's real good fun.

Very solid game. It's a damn shame it didn't sell very well.
I can't even play Max Payne after you seeing him in those 10 million troll poses
