Yo guys I need your help once more! We're 4 people planning to play some games tomorrow evening but we're still looking for some cool things to play. We usually play Age of Empires II and Age of Mythology, because one of us has a toaster which doesn't run anything newer (and because they're awesome games obviously)
Any ideas?
C&C: Tiberian Sun - Firestorm (it's free!)
Doom, Sven Co-op with Half-Life's campaign, maybe?
RecWar, albeit might be difficult to find a reliable download. Classic 1999 freeware office game, pretty much Quake with tanks.
halo custom edition with a ton of maps
swat 4
quake 3
doom 1 or 2 and wads to go with it
command and conquer tiberian sun or red alert 2
ut 2k4
soldat i think
worms armageddeon
openttd mp is fun if you like tycoon games
SWAT 4 for sure. Great game, especially with multiplayer.
Aliens vs predator 2 is AMAZING as a lan game
Quake. It's not strategy, but it has great co-op and deathmatch, and can quite literally run on a toaster. Also, it has a shareware version, so you don't even need to buy the game. http://www.quakeone.com/freequake/en.html
Half Life Deathmatch?
Payday: The Heist
Is pretty friendly with most pc's since it runs on a older engine
Soldat
Tribes 2 would be fun, I think it also has some bot support.
Battlefront 2 isnt wildly old but its pretty solid.
And old Civilization like 3 or maybe 4.
Diablo 2, can't forget that classic
Tribes 2 would be fun, I think it also has some bot support.

Yes. It's free, google TribesNext
Try finding the Advanced Combat Construction Mod (ACCM) - it has a few different modes, one of which involves defending your base from waves of "zombie" BioDerms and is generally fun for fucking about in.
Found it: http://accm.the-construct.net/Downloads/Tribes%202/ACCM%20Downloads/ No idea if it still works, but it should do.
most fun i had in lan was when we all played san andreas online mod
everybody likes it
4 games fit for an old man LAN game:
- Descent 3
- Unreal Tournament, maybe unreal Tournament 2003
- System Shock 2
- Rainbow Six: Rogue Spear
Bonus:
maybe your toaster can run Project Eden, too.
CS 1.6.
[editline]10th July 2015[/editline]
BF1942 or BF2
Not old but runs on a potato, Duck Game. Can even just hook up controllers to one computer and play it like that.
Stronghold Crusader
Duke Nukem 3d
Crusader kings 2
Any of the Worms games
Killing Floor 1 runs on most potatoes
and a personal favorite, Unreal Gold.

I thought it was free but I wasn't sure of its legal status.
Another one (and chronological predecessor) is Starsiege which I think is also "available". It involves customizing and piloting mechs (HERCs lore-wise). The multiplayer I think includes deathmatch, team deathmatch, CTF, and KotH. I know it had enough of a small following to be patched up to Windows 7/8.
Original versions of Serious Sam: The First/Second Encounter have full co-op support and Deathmatch modes and will pretty much run on anything.
Serious Sam
road rage
Doom
The first Dawn of War can probably run on a toaster.
Red Alert 2 was pretty fun.
Tribes 2. Will run on a literal potato, huge maps, fairly good bot AI, and fun as shit.
If you can find 'em, it also has thousands of mods.
fucking quake
Quake co-op
