Bioshock Infinite can I play it before B1 and 2 since it's on sale also I am only interested in this one because of the cloud city thing.
I'd say so it barely touches with the first 2.
Yeah there's no spoilers for the previous two games so you're good. Technically it happened before bioshock 1 so they don't touch it. DO NOT PLAY BURIAL AT SEA. It is singlehandedly the worst absolute dlc, especially if you're so used to the Bioshock 1&2 lore. You know a dlc is shit when the creator himself said people don't have to consider it canon.
It's fun but the combat gets boring.

yeah it was on his twitter quite a long time ago, I'll do some digging and see if I can find it again
Play at least Bioshock 1 first. Infinite and its DLC don't touch Bioshock 2 except for one passing mention of a single location in BS2.

And for god's sake, save all of the Little Sisters, don't harvest a single one. It's both morally and mathematically the best choice.
You can definitely play Infinite if you haven't played the other two bioshocks.
The other two bioshocks are worth trying if you ever change your mind.
You'd appreciate some parts of it more if you played the orignals. However, the first two are better games.
It's horribly over-hyped but sure. It doesn't really have much to do with the rest of the universe say for like one scene.
it's not the most memorable of games really, once you get into the whole [sp]alternate reality[/sp] bullshit the plot kind of loses any weight it held

tho you don't need to play any of the previous games for it to hold what little it owns
Bioshock Infinite, ignoring its DLCs, has no link to the previous games at all apart from maybe some hard to spot references I missed and a single "huh" moment in the ending
[sp]that being the "it always starts with a lighthouse" comment[/sp]
I wouldn't recommend it, but yeah, apart from the odd reference here and there, particularly near the end, you could play it first.

And don't play any of Burial at Sea if you are at all interested in playing the first game. Not because it sucks, I still think it's really good.

I thought Burial at Sea was great.
Each to their own, I suppose.
The ending of Infinite wont impact near as much without playing the first Bioshock.
