You can tap the power of your house's phone line to at least have some light, or at least keep your smartphone charged.
If I was correct the voltage of the phone lines in the US is 5 volts, enough to charge your phone.

Usually when the power goes out the phone line stays up.

I have a flashlight, always keep one handy. Also pizza is a no-go, no places are open and the one that is that delivers apparently doesn't deliver during blackouts, seems like a pretty dumb policy.

No I'm alive. Power was out still when I left home this morning for University, still at University, so I have no idea if power is back still. I didn't get to sleep though, ended up watching shit on my laptop until my battery died then going for a drive just cuz.

I thought they had a back-up so that if someone cuts the power to your house to try and break in, it sets the alarm off. The same thing happens if you try and take the battery out of a car when the doors are locked, the alarm goes off
