The doctor told me I had it and told me it was a bit too late (or maybe early?) for ice and told me to heat it. I also was told to take 3 advil 3 times a day and do some basic stretches.
Anyone else know of anything else I can do to help heal it up, besides rest and what the doctor said?
Will if affect my usage of the drum bass pedal? (It's the tendon connecting some muscle in my leg to my knee, right leg right side, right below my knee. )
tendonitious = the inflammation of tendon (s).
and yes it will probably affect your bass drum playing drastically.... until it heals. tendonitious is not permanent. do what the dr says. i wouldnt put heat on it for about a day (that will make the inflammation spread) only cold. after the first day (or 2 if you want to be safe) alternate from cold too hot throughout the day.
also i would like into some therapeutic stretching and maybe even a bit of localized massage, not too much though... and obviously with very light pressure.
and if you havnt guessed, you probably should lay off the bass pedal for a few days. if your an avid drummer you may have got it from that.
hope this helps (=
