• Tricks for falling asleep faster?

Well, yesterday I went to bed at 3 am but only fell asleep at around 4 am. Tomorrow I have to get up at 8 am but I woke up today at 1 pm, so I won't be tired until 3 am or so. What can I do to help me fall asleep faster?

Haven't thought of alcohol, thanks guys! Keep the tips and advices coming though, there might be something that could help me even more.
This is actually good to know. Because sometimes i have a hard time falling asleep.

When you lay down, think about sleep and nothing else. It may take a while, but it works for me.

Punch self in face until you feel sleepy. But remember don't go to the light.

It will make you tired but it wont make you go to sleep. It will KEEP you awake. what you need to do, is stay away from the computer/TV for at least 30 min before you head to bed (the lighting screws with your internal clock) Don't eat for at least 2 hours. Listen to calming music or no music at all. Is it so hard for people to think of this stuff really? Its common sense if you've taken 9th grade biology. I've forgotten to follow the Computer/TV part for a while so I am going to go take a shower, read Grapes of Wrath and head to bed. hopefully next week I will feel refreshed :)
