An early closed beta ran well on my machine, I have a GTX 780 and a i7-4770K
Why would anyone want to buy Chivalry, except it's an Ubisoft special featuring shittier combat and like $100 in day one DLC?

It's nothing like chivarly, it's more like a glorified rock paper scissors.

I have the exact same set-up, high-five!
Awesome that they actually put resolution+fps for minimum and recommended. More people/companies should do that. I have a 900p monitor so I'm able to play games at better settings/fps with my hardware than if I had a 1080p monitor so it's nice to know what resolution/fps they mean with the system requirements.
Pretty hyped for this. Played all the tests that they have had except their very first one, and it's awesome. Ran flawlessly at 60 fps back on my old 680GTX.

I'd rather play this than Chivalry. I think I played it for about an hour one time out of the many free weekends and was bored immediately
Also this is nothing like Chivalry in the first place, calm your Ubisoft hate boner for a bit and look into it before making claims.

Combat looks pretty ballin whereas Chivalry is pretty bs a lot of the time, I dunno what ya mean

Chivalry is only bullshit when you get those CUNTS who abuse the body movement system to become impossible to hit and swing at lightning fast speeds using the slowest weapons or when they make their swings really long. When you play against a regular opponent, Chivalry is insanely fun.

I wish they had some kind of system in place where you do reduced damage earlier in the swing or none at all if it's too early.
I'm mostly concerned that the networking is peer2peer. In a game where timing and accuracy is everything it could become a BIG problem.

When I played it it reminded me of Mount and Blade with somehow worse controls.
Chivalry has a good premise but the fights boil down to who can abuse the animation system better than the other guy.

Unlike chivalry and Mount and blade. This game looks like its ment to be played with a controller and will suck.with PC controls. . but I don't know have not played it yet. I just played enough games to know what seems to be input required purely from gameplay videos.

it's not like it's any effort to use a gamepad on a pc

having nice mkb controls wouldn't hurt either
having nice mkb controls wouldn't hurt either
no but I don't expect third person games to be built for mkb to be honest, yeah, it's nice when they work well, but even when you have excellent mkb support in a lot of third person games, i'm going to prefer a gamepad as it's not a negative to the experience as it likely wasn't designed to really benefit from the nuances of a mkb setup

It's the meta-game!
If you can accept that fact (and suspend your peevish nature) you can unlock an amazing amount of depth for a game with very simple rules... It's EXTREMELY challenging and rewarding to master.

But lets keep apples to apples...
Ubisoft seems to have constructed an interesting story to go with their [del]match based, battle-grounds style fighting[/del] "glorified rock paper scissors" and I remain hyped.
I tried the beta, and I genuinely liked it. But unfortunately my college has strict NAT, and issue that also plagues my copy of rainbow six now. I can get a random game after a long wait, occasionally, but can't join or start any parties while I'm dorming on campus.
So a really cool game from my experience, with some neat ideas. But I don't think I'm going to pick it up, or any other ubisoft title that keeps using a similar matchmaking system.
