Shave your head and go to the Vatican and kill the pope in a black suit.
Be polite, don't make it obvious you are a tourist. Get a italian translation book. If your primary language is english, don't expect people there to speak it, and if the person you're trying to communicate to doesn't speak english, then reframe from trying to talk slower to them expecting them to understand.
There are many things to see in Rome, but take a moment see more than what it's famous for. Experience the culture. Five days isn't alot so make the most of it.
Do be sure to stop by the Colosseum, I hear talk of great spectacles and glorious battles taking place in a large amphitheatre.
