This article is written incredibly poorly. It calls the game by a different name three times (Serious sam 2 HD, Serious Sam HD: The Second Encounter and Serious Sam HD 2). Serious Sam 2 and TSE are completely different things yet they seem to think that they're interchangeable.
Yeah I thought they were doing an HD remake of Serious Sam 2 based on the title.
Seems odd that they'd do DLC for The Second Encounter when they just recently released SS3.

Welcome to Shacknews.
Jesus Christ, bring back RPS.
Shacknews is terrible.
Wait, did they make a Serious Sam 2 HD? I figured they would try and hide that abomination as well as possible.

Nope.

Abomination?
It wasn't that bad, the level design was fun and they just took the game to even zanier heights art wise.

The first few planets were shit, but when you got to the Kleer/lava planet it really, really picked up.
I wouldn't mind a HD remake of Serious Sam 2, the original is pretty unplayable on modern computers.
I think Croteam said they're considering making a gritty remake of SS2, with less quirky graphics and more serious-sam ness, but still with SS charm.
I recall hearing that if Croteam was to remake Serious Sam 2, it would be an entire overhaul of the game to the point where it wouldn't be like the original. So here is hoping they actually plan on remaking that game, seeing as how they've been doing fairly well with the HD remasters, and SS3 was fantastic.

Damn, beat me to it.

Well funnily enough croteam love all their games so much they don't just abandon them after a new one is released.
I'm pretty sure that this DLC has been in the works for a long time. The devs talked about in in early 2011 on the forums at www.seriouszone.com.
Piece of shit article got me all excited thinking they were finally doing a SS2 HD release... Guddamn bustards.

If they ended up redoing everything so it's not like the original, then why not call it Serious Sam 4?
Fuck you shack i thought it was a ss2 remake.
Why was RPS replaced?
Tbh they should just bring back rps but also keep shack, moar news
Thanks for getting my hopes up and crushing them Shacknews.

because garry didn't like it, I'm serious

RPS was fucking awful though. Almost all the articles could be boiled down to;
"PC Mastur raec rite guyS!!!"
Honestly, they got more pissed off than the average Facepuncher over a game being ever so slightly delayed for release compared to the console versions. Bitched about nearly everything (that wasn't Skyrim or minecraft, actually, that's pretty much all they posted about now I think about it). Fuck, the entire thing was opinion pieces, not news.
I actually liked Serious Sam 2, I was pissed when I first got it as a kid though and I couldn't run it on my busted ass computer. Got to play it 3 years later and I thought it was pretty fun.

They were entertaining to read and well written.
And besides, PC is master race.

Yeah, it was my first SS game and I thought it was pretty good.
I got it for free with my old Geforce 7600GS
Serious Sam's multiplayer is absolutely insanely fast paced, it's like Quake on speed.
this will be GREAT since nobody ever plays it
SERIOUS SAM 2 HD..
oh wait, more misleading text.
Yay, FREE SSHD multiplayer
