Introduction
I was thinking about the things you can do in Arma a few days ago when a thought entered my head:
"What would a Nation RP be like if posters could control a faction in Arma 2? and could they then influence battles by joining in?
And thats exactly what I hope this thread can become. I looked at the available maps and figured that Isla Duala was the best map for this, because it its largely unique and one of the best maps made for Arma 2. It also comes complete with many units for both the factions warring over it. Apologies for largely assuming people are interested in this, but I really couldn't help myself.
The Rules
There are two factions in Isla Duala, Afrenia and Molatia. Afrenia is very western influenced and Molatia has an Eastern feel.
The first thing we need to have before we can begin is a Cabinet of Ministers and a Generall for both factions. The General will be determined by the Cabinet of Ministers. The Cabinet of Ministers is open to everyone.
Because this is an experiment, I will still change things if anyone comes up with a good idea.
Roles
General: Decides where the Forces of the Faction are garrisoned at the start and how an army gets to its goal assigned by the Ministers. He or She will also tell me how the army is positioned in a Skirmish, which I will get to later.
Cabinet of Minsters There are 4-8 Ministers in total for each Faction, and they vote over the policies and the actions performed by the faction. Factions can of course say which Minister governs which part of the Faction if they wish. Places are first come first served. If you are too late do not worry, for you can either wait for someone to give up their position or you can suggest a way in which you can get involved.
Ministers and Generals will speak and plan on a google document moderated by me, which I will link everyone playing to when the players are assembled.
Turn Structure
Politics: General Politics and Actions are decided by the Ministers.
Economy/Production During this the Ministers decide what to buy and build.
Other Ministers ask me if they can do something that is in the bounds of the RP, E.g Assassination has not yet been attempted by either faction, a request is sent and I set up some odds.
When you become a Minister or General
If It is a new action, I will decide upon the odds and will roll one or more dice to determine the outcome.
If it is a purchase or existing action, it will be automatically passed, unless circumstances like sabotage or espionage hinder it.
Warfare
Movement of Armies
Armies move D3 (either 1, 2 or 3 determined by a 6 sided dice) Sectors (squares on the map) per turn, unless you have a transport for every man in the army, which adds 1+ to the roll. Aircraft are not part of an army, they come as support from either an airport or your home island. Armies can be positioned on any square at the start of the game.
What happens when two armies meet?
When two armies meet the following happens:
1) I draw out an area In the editor in which the battle will take place.
2) I contact the Generals of both factions and let them indicate to me where they would like to position their forces and what they want each aspect of their force to do. It is for this reason that I would prefer Generals have the patience to draw up their tactics in paint or photoshop. (I will send an image of the battlefield to them by PM).
3)I will position the units needed and start the battle. I will not intervene if one side starts winning. If there is interest, I will let some real people join in. The first result of the battle will determine the resolution.
4)I will post the results in this thread.

This has all the things you can buy and research. Used in the Economic part of a turn.

Annum is a typo, it just means turn.
I am fully aware that it is not the most beautiful thing in the world. I do not have Photoshop or any other editing program that is as good and my Paint skills are very limited. That image took me more than 2 hours of thought and starting from scratch, so please be considerate.
Special Thanks to Snuffy for helping me.
Playerlist so far:
Mr.Face-Afrenian General
So in conclusion, I need:
Players on both sides
Both sides to write up how their starting forces are organized
Comments & Critescism
A reminder if I have missed anything out.
I would love some people to help expand the rules and fill in the gaps.
Post in the thread to sign up for either faction. If it seems confusing but you want to try it out, post that you are interested and I will go through the rules with you and answer any questions.
Sounds interesting, but why is this in fast threads?
I AM CONFUSED.

Because Empires&Revoloutions being in here made me think it was supposed to be here.
Besides, Games in Progress is very scarcely populated and I guessed that posting in GGD might get the thread locked or me banned.
I'll join in if I can be a general rather than a minister.

Forgot to say, Afrenia.
I'm no expert, but I have a creeping suspicion 4 Leopards will absolutely demolish 4 T-55s as far as balance goes in ArmA.
If you're going to give one side russian tanks give them modern russian tanks.
Edit: Or just give the molatians the advantage of masses, with old gear they should be considerably cheaper.
Edit2: Btw let me warn you, ARMA 2 doesn't simulate naval combat as far as I know, you might have to scrap the naval battles part.
