I'm surprised this wasn't already discounted for the halloween sale.
Honestly not worth your money.
Boring and not that scary at all.
Way overrated
I don't mind the game, I'm just here for the things the fans do for the game which end up pretty interesting.
no the porn is weird hush
This game is worth $5, definitely worth half that. It's cheap and yet still fun. What the hell does everyone have against it? It's not like it's trying to be something it's not, and it's not like what you heard and saw about it isn't what it actually turned out to be once you've played it, I mean I honestly don't get all the hate.
Honestly, it seems as if people dislike it simply because it got extremely popular over night.
I'd say if you have an interest in the game, go for it! It's bare bones in terms of game play but the first few times you play it, it's genuinely frightening. That is until you figure out how to exploit the systems in place.

Pretty sure facepunch is 70% closet hipsters
probably the least spooked ive been playing a game ever
-snip-
take peoples word here with a grain of salt. Anything remotely popular usually is frowned upon. I'd say it's worth checking out for the price if you (somehow) haven't heard of it before.
Just watch a playthrough on youtube. It's free and you get pretty much the same experience.

The experience being jumpscares, because that's all this game is.
it's a cool concept and it's really rad that one person made it, but god damn the fanbase is toxic
Whenever FP says a game is usually bad I end up trying it because 99% of the time they get mad it's popular for some reason. I like FNAF and it was unique and creative in it's own sense, better then the shitty pixel-art indie game crap that normally comes out, and lets admit it, the fact that people couldn't open files and could only view pre-rendered footage just made fans more interested.
It's hard to dislike this game, and for a dollar it's not a bad pickup to try at all.
I played it only few minutes and it's alright, simple concept but I'm not a huge fan of jumpscares. I don't give too shits about the community so I can't say people ruined it for me.

you mean 70% of facepunch is closet hipsters? Because if I am already 70% water then where does all that other shit fit in.

Please tell me how you are getting the "same experience" from watching a game about management than if you were to be doing the managing yourself.

From what I've seen, anything after the second night isn't even fun. It's just a repeated action over and over again until the night is over.
That's not a game, it's a chore. You can't beat it unless you just repeat the same tactic until it ends. If you don't do this, you get a loud obnoxious jump scare and have to do it all over again.
Call me old fashion, but I like to have fun when I play games, not get a headache and carpal tunnel.
It's a bad game, not a bad concept.

And 29% publicly out hipsters.

playthroughs never are the same thing as physically playing it yourself, unless the game is dear esther or gone home
I've never played this game but the user reviews on its Steam page are so shit.
It's only really scary if you don't know much about it going in. I guess that kinda goes for most horror stuff though.
I don't think you understand what qualifies for a 'jump scare'
if it's something you can prevent/is brought about by your own action/inaction, it is by definition not a jump scare
by your logic anything remotely frightening is a jump scare
[editline]31st October 2014[/editline]
that said I'm not a big fan of the game but at this price there's really no argument
Are you seriously implying the scares in FNAF aren't jump scares?

I blame the run of Slender Rip offs
I was watching someone's stream last night where they got their dad to play it. It felt nowhere near as scary as when it first released because everyone in chat was telling the streamer all about the game mechanics and how not to get caught. Knowing everything about the game ruins the suspense it gives.
The game is good if you've lived under a rock and know nothing about it. Just don't bother touching the fan base because it's been overrun with furry porn.
Honestly not worth your money.
It's literally $2.50
Two fucking bucks
It's a fun little game with interesting mechanics (assuming you don't spoil yourself by reading tons of guides before even launching the game), trying to figure out the story behind the animatronics is amusing, and the good part of the community is basically just people exchanging their theories on the games. It's definitely worth it at a price tag that small.
Are you seriously implying the scares in FNAF aren't jump scares?
Nah, the real terror comes from the sense of lingering futility you have when faced with the fact that your resources are finite and that you basically control your own destiny.
The jump scares are more just punishment for doing poorly.
Also there ARE jump scares in this game but they're quite predictable for the most part. I do agree that the screeching is far too loud and high pitched but thankfully it looks like it's going to be toned down in the sequel.
