Today i looked on the android app ShopSavvy for ps3 consoles. I found the price of a system for $2.49 at a local gamestop. I go into that gamestop to see if they would give me the same price but they denied blaming it on their system. I was then told to talk to corporate and so i did. I managed to talk to a supervisor named jamie and he told me that they cant honor the price because they have nothing to do with ShopSavvy even though ShapSavvy uses their name and logo. Why does the story of corporate supervisor not match up with the in store manager at the actual store? If you guys wanna see the price error for the ps3 look on shopsavvy app for android and look for a price in the location of central ave, NY.
ShopSavvy appears to be an unofficial app, can provide inaccurate or false information, don't bother.
Wow duh.
Why even ask.
You shouldn't sue them, you can't sue them, you wouldn't win.

Yea but why did the actual manager of the store blame it on their system. And isn't that a violation on ShopSavvy's part by using GameStop's name and logo?
you'd lose the court case and waste money doing so
What would be the counter-argument?
What would be the counter-argument?
Whatever they want it to be. They could afford million dollars lawyers if they so choose.
Why would you think the price is real in the first place? Common sense should have helped you realize that it wouldn't actually be $2.49.
But isn't it a violation on their part?

I obviously knew the price was fake. But isn't it false advertisement? Hasn't there been lawsuits in the past on false advertisement.
But isn't it a violation on their part?
I bet they have somewhere in their EULA or something else something like "Prices are not official and can vary".
Gamesto? Never heard of it.

Actually the Corporate Supervisor i talked to said that they would have to honor the price if gamestop did put that price online.
Actually the Corporate Supervisor i talked to said that they would have to honor the price if gamestop did put that price online.
And they can say it wasn't his choice whether they would honor that. He'll get fired, and you will get no money.

But it was a supervisor at the corporation not some random employee.
What the hell is Gamesto?
What the hell is Gamesto?
A typo of the name gamestop (a gaming store)
Some stores (at least in the UK) say in the small print, "We have the right to cancel and refund any orders due to any pricing mistake on our website"
If you ever want an accurate price on something from GameStop, I suggest you call GameStop themselves. Your local one, that is. Not to be mean, but I don't think you'd stand a chance suing them. Not specifically you, but anyone. Unless of course it was something HUGE.
False advertisement is pretty huge
lol americans. Something worng, sue everybody.
Seriously, if the information here is right, its an unofficial app, and therefore the company didn't have anything with whatever items or prices there are. Also, what would be the chances to actually win something like this? If you want to sue them so bad because you wasted half an hour to go to the store and face the small disappointment of not getting something, do you think it's worth that much trouble? Why don't you inform yourself of their terms and conditions, the ones for the app before you start thinking about arguments and counter arguments?

In America false advertisement is against the law. We take words seriously here and if you say something and advertise it you are usually legally bonded to your word unless you specify otherwise in fine print. And as i said earlier, the in-store manager blamed it on gamestops system so im thinking It might not have been shopsavvy
oh boo hoo they made an error, get over it.
"This app told me a PS3 was only $2.49 and Gamestop won't give me the console for 247.5 off should I sue them?"
What do you think

Shopsavvy is 3rd party and unaffiliated with Gamestop. Gamestop isn't False Advertising if a 3rd party fucks up a price.
You're not getting a free PS3 and no court or lawyer will take a case for such a paltry amount of goods.
oh boo hoo they made an error, get over it.
Why? If im required to abide by the law and not "take" the system for $2.49 then they should be required to not false advertise to customers.
Errors happen.
Are you retarded by any chance?

How many times do I have to say the in store manager blamed it on their system so that is false advertisement.
