The Walking Dead (not sure about iPhone but I know you can get it on iPad). Sure, all the episodes will cost you like $15 in total but it's worth it, and if you don't rush everything it will take a while to finish as well.

Real Racing 3 is free, and yes you can spend real money in-game but you don't need to, I haven't yet and I've progressed really far in the game. Overall the game is pretty awesome, driving is relatively realistic, there's a good selection of tracks and quite a few event types.

Also if you're heaps into tech stuff download Engadget distro in the newsstand and like a dozen or so articles. The opinion pieces alone are pretty interesting, and everything is free.

The Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney series?

First few parts are free I think but the game costs $16 or something for the complete thing. Which is still really cheap considering the game was originally on the DS which is like $90 in total for the trilogy.
