I'll start with Commandos Strike Force (2006) a stealth FPS set during WW2, in many locations across Europe such as Norway, France and Russia. There were 3 playable characters, each having their own unique abilities : Spy, Sniper and Green Beret. The spy could disguise as any enemy he killed, the Green Beret was the combat and destruction specialist and the Sniper, well, he was a sniper. It had it's flaws but overall I remember having alot of fun with it and was highly re-playabale considering the various arsenal each character had (who it was possible to switch between in most missions). Lost Planet 2 is still one of my most favorite co-op games. It's pretty much a 3D Metal Slug + Monster Hunter fun arcade goodness. It wasn't so well received during release, mostly due to its grindiness and some clunky designs, but heck it was still one of the most fun I had in a multiplayer game. It was filled with a lot of crazy set pieces, weapons, and bosses.
Land of The Dead: Road to Fiddlers Green. Oh man this game WAS a pile of shit, but the online community really made the multiplayer one of the best timewasters in my childhood. Custom maps, gamemodes, mods etc. Some really cool shit was pulled off with the editor.

Metal Arms is such a legendary game, I never understood why it didn't get more popular
I feel like the penumbra series (yes, all 3, even you, that third one) really deserves respect more than Amnesia does Overture and Blackplague honestly are far more effective horror games than Amnesia. Even with the very old nature of them, the games have far more character and charm than Amnesia could ever hope to have. The third part isn't really horror anymore but more puzzle focused and I feel like it's a good buy but not really a part of the series to worry that much about.

Murdered: Soul Suspect and Split/Second. Also The Ball. It feels like the reason anyone even played The Ball was due to the whole Portal 2 event that happened.

Crashday and Jurassic Park Operation Genesis. Maaaan. I put sooo many hours into those.

I got this as one of those free games that used to come with GPUs back in the good old days, never was any good at it.

Zax: The Alien Hunter State of War: Warmonger Earth 2150 Rise of Nations [editline]29th April 2017[/editline] Alpha Centauri
Ballistics is easily one of my favorite games, on harder modes you can reach top speeds of 3k mph. Never understood why it wasn't more popular, it got an arcade release on top of the original. Fun fact, this is also the first game Simon Viklund (PAYDAY Series) did music for.
Bastion
good memories
Split/Second.
Holy fuck yes. Salt on the wound is that it [sp]ended on a cliffhanger/sequel hook it's never going to recover from, what with Black Rock Studio getting closed down[/sp]. It was such a fun game, too. The races were spectacular to watch, not to mention actually participate in.
I want to say Unreal Tournament and Ape Escape, but I have a feeling that both of those were at least decently popular back then and are somewhat well-known today. In which, I'd probably go with Terminal Velocity, and Future Cop LAPD (Actual gameplay here starts around 2:22) The Timesplitters series might not be popular too, but I'm not entirely sure.
Bastion
Bastion is anything but underrated? People love that game. I'll chip in with Towerclimb, one of my all time favourites, a true hidden gem:
its a point and click adventure game but i enjoyed it a lot [t]https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/9/98/Yesterday_video_game.jpg[/t]
Startopia, no question. A great management sim where you run a space station filled with all sorts of goofy over-the-top aliens that all have their own roles and wants that you have to work to accommodate- from the hardworking Groulien Salthogs to the good-for-nothing Polvakian Gem Slugs. Throw in some great depth of strategy and some amusing Douglas Adams-esque writing and you've got a recipe for a DAMN fine game. This is one of those games I've been going back to since I was a kid, and still adore it to this day. If you haven't tried it, you owe it to yourself to give it a go. Hell you can get it on either Steam or GoG for under ten bucks. I can't recommend it enough. [t]https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/b/b5/Ecstatica_Coverart.png[/t] [t]http://www.mobygames.com/images/covers/l/12350-ecstatica-ii-windows-front-cover.jpg[/t] I loved both of these games, they have a pretty unique visual style and are challenging (everything is made out of prerendered ellipsoids). It reminds me of dark souls but if it were more cartoony and made in the 90s. The puzzles are great too. The controlls really take some time to get used to. I liked the second one better too. I'm still fucking salty that I'm literally the only person that ever cared about modding or model extraction.

I really wanted a proper sequel for this too, it really captures the Hong Kong action typically seen in films super well.

Cybernator on Super Nintendo. That was my JAM when I was a kid. Awesome soundtrack, later levels get piss hard though. To this day I've only beat it twice.

Enter the Gungeon for being quite possibly being the only rouge like/bullet hell that's good.
