Ask someone who used to have a multiple personality disorder anything.

I used to have a multiple personality disorder when I was a bit younger. I would get a lot of weird feelings, as if I was getting distant from my senses and overall trippy times. These days they don't diagnose me as mentally ill, but I'm not exactly healthy either. The personality is still in my noggin, but unable to cause any behavioural problems to me any more. So here we are, in case any of you are interested in these illnesses, we're happy to answer your questions.
Ask me almost anything you want.
have you ever stabbed someone to death in a motel
have you ever stabbed someone to death in a motel
No.
;34476805']No.
Why not?
Why not?
Because murder is wrong.
;34476805']No.
But how would you know???????
Did you remember everything and just have different emotions and behaviors, or did you actually have blackouts where you were, personality wise, a different person?
What are your different personalities and which one is your favourite?
What are your different personalities and which one is your favourite?
Well, I'm not really picking favourites since there were two and now there's only one different personality besides myself. The one that left due to years of therapy was the main issue, the current one is just a bit of a douche whenever it can. I can't really pick favourites since there's only one left.

Yes, the two of us are always at least partially conscious regardless of which one is dominant. Once switched, it's a completely different person. The other personality even uses a unique voice which sounds faggy IMO. I can't control my actions much if I let the other personality take over, but I can distantly feel, hear and barely smell with my senses. It's kind of like falling asleep in a way, but you don't quite go there. You're kind of left on the border of falling asleep, your senses barely working and every sound or noise sounds muffled and distant with a slight echo. It's a strange feeling, but I do know basically what the other personality has been doing if it has taken over.
What meds are/were you prescribed?
What meds are/were you prescribed?
I was given melatonin for a test run if it could've helped with my sleeping difficulties. Frankly, it didn't help one bit and I ended up eating them just because they were pills, not because they had any effect. Otherwise no meds. Even my depression was mild enough to be treatable with just therapy, they didn't need to give me oxycodo or anything.
How opposing are some of the actions/thoughts of both personalities? Does one do what the other would not consider doing?
Did you ever have conversations with your other personalities, through letters etc?
Did you ever have conversations with your other personalities, through letters etc?
Sticky notes on the fridge.
"Don't stab dad"
Did you ever have conversations with your other personalities, through letters etc?
I don't have to, since we are conscious of each other we can communicate to an extent just by thoughts. Just because I talk to it, however, doesn't mean it always wants to answer. Sometimes it bluntly tells me to just fuck off without any given reason.

Pretty opposing, seeing that the ridden personality was the most depressing thing I had ever known in my life. Just hearing it's voice made me want to kill myself. If you could take all the sadness, boredom and depression in the world and make a person out of it, that would've been my alternative personality.
The current one inhabiting my head is just...a lunatic. I'm kind of at a loss of words to describe it/her. Basically everything that moves is a threat. The logic behind it's reasoning is something like this: You don't know what another person is thinking. There is a chance between 0.0000001% and 99.9% that the person is thinking of killing you right there and is going to do it. Therefore you must do precautions to prevent getting killed.
The precaution is to kill the other person before it kills you.
It's a really black&white view of the world. It just wants to kill everyone, plain and simple. Something I don't really approve of. Hell, if it could it'd probably kill my family as well, since "social bonds only slow you down."
Have you ever woken up in your bed covered in blood and bitches?
Have you ever woken up in your bed covered in blood and bitches?
No, since I'm not a lesbian on her period.
How often do your personalitys take control?
Did you have any control over these personalities, or is it literally like having someone else's thoughts in your mind?

Why are split personalities always so violent? Are there any that were friendly?
Do you miss the voices in your head?
Is there any reason for the switch? Or does it happen for no randomly.
Has it been hard living with it?
At the beginning it was pretty overwhelming and my grades plummeted since about 95% of my focus went into keeping my head from exploding from the mayhem inside. As time went by and I got more and more used to it and learned other coping mechanisms, things got easier. When the depressing fuckbag left my head (hopefully) for good, it was like lifting a huge burden from my shoulders. Now, the violent one is still there and I haven't figured out what event triggered it's creation, but even though at this very moment it's telling me to go and murder everyone on the streets, I've learned to ignore whatever it says and it's become this...weird background noise inside my head I guess.
Sure, it's not normal and sure, it has to be fixed, but there's no outside symptoms from it other than slightly sadistic sense of humor.
I've learned to deal with it and every day I make slight progress.
How do you know you are the real personality?
How do you know you are the real personality?
Well, first of all you have to think about your memories. Which of you was happy when Santa Claus came to visit during Christmas evening when you were at the age of 6? The violent one would've tried to stab him with a kitchen knife, so it most likely had to be you.
Also, the fact that everyone acknowledges me as a normally behaving person is another sign. If I ask them about what they think to be my "normal" behaviour, they describe my characteristics, not the ones the side personality has.. If you can't be sure of yourself, then try to be sure about the surroundings. It helps a lot.

So far I haven't had any symptoms of twisted memories so thinking about the times before this happened is a sure-fire way for me to keep a firm footing on my beliefs. As much as Waltz (the side-personality) claims that my memories are false in a futile attempt to shake my confidence, I know for a fact it didn't even exist back then so there's no way it could have been in those memories. It was me since I remember acting exactly like that. As do everyone else around me including my parents. And albeit I sometimes do playfully think about the possibility of Waltz being the actual me being suppressed, I know exactly how wrong it would be for a person like that to exist and how stuffed full of pills I'd be if that was true. Since I'm not, I'll just stick in my belief that I am the tree's trunk. The personality is just a branch. I can live without it, it cannot live without me or my body.
I don't get why you insist on disagreeing with me, but okay. Maybe I just wrote it in an unclear way.
