Again with the 3 paths thing, still better than crysis 2, although what would make it better would be 2 of the paths having a dead end and had to go back to the right one
From that diagram at 0:29, it looks like you can go: a - to the left of the building b - a little bit less left of the building c - to the right of the building And you end up in the same place, placing a charge in the middle of the dam. Wouldn't it be better if you had access to the surrounding buildings, and could approach and charge the damn anywhere you wanted? Suppose that would take work though. Ergh, wish they wouldn't pass that off as "multiple ways to achieve your objective" .
DrBreen - Crysis 1 was literally the same thing. Besides, this is medium in terms of level scale for what they have planned.
"Crytek makes any other shooter it's bitch." Hahahaha.
Crysis 3 brings the "finale" of the visually impressive nanosuit shooter trilogy.
Yeah right, they will be back a few years later with Crysis 4 no doubt
Such a boring game.
Such a boring game.
Sorry you have poor taste.
Sorry you have poor taste.
"You may pick path A B or C to get to your objective" I don't know about you, but personally I severely disagreed with the direction the second game took, and the third game looks to be expanding on this. Most of the fun in the original game was the amount of choice you had in taking out the enemies, now your choices are limited to what the developers force you to do
The bow is just stupid, I mean come on.
DrBreen - Crysis 1 was literally the same thing. Besides, this is medium in terms of level scale for what they have planned.
well yeah, they made the illusion of free roam less obvious
I'm going to stick with my Far Cry 1 thank you.

As soon as I saw the water physics at the end of that trailer, I thought "It better be prerendered, or my poor little ATI GPU will have to suffer using PhysX"
And what the christ is that fucking bow and arrow doing? He's a super suited hyper trained ultra trooper, what the fuck does he need a BOW AND ARROW for!? Was the multitude of assault weaponry, rocket launchers and laser death rays not enough somehow? Have an overall objective for the game. Have a story line that is engaging, original, and stands up to closer inspection. Have a huge map, make the buildings and cover destructible. Make the vehicles drivable, even if there's no point. Make things happen randomly in the background. Have different factions fighting for control in front of your eyes. Have decent AI that falls back when has taken casualties, actually suppresses the player and immediately calls for reinforcements when attacked. Let them call in artillery, armour support, I don't care. Make it feel like despite being a nano soldier person, the things I'm supposed to be fighting are actually a formidable opponent as opposed to a bunch of bloody pin cushions for a F U C K I N G B O W A N D A R R O W. Don't just rehash the last game, make ever smaller campaigns and copy Call of effing Duty for the multiplayer. Give me a reason to buy your game, instead of just spouting shit which by this point even you must know isn't true. Ergh. Sorry chaps, long night and I though Crysis 2 was pathetic. 3 doesn't look to be solving anything. ...nice engine though.
Again with the bow. Why is the bow so special?
I really don't understand the complaints. A game can be linear, free roam, semi-linear, whatever the god damn dumb name you want to give it, all I care about is if it is FUN. No one seems to remember that part and complain about changes. I remember Crysis 1 being generally linear anyways, and gave no real reason to break away from ONE path.
If the direction they were going in was actually a good one then people wouldn't have forgotten completely about Crysis 2 a month after it was released. It might have survived if it at least had a multiplayer mode that wasn't a totally obvious CoD clone.

They force you in to battle in Crysis 2 and 3.
Fine everyone's happy with an uninventive pile of rehashed garbage as long as it has a bow.
Crysis went from being a techdemo with decent gameplay to EA attempting to revive it as a AAA shooter and abandoning everything anyone ever liked from the first game. Fucking sad.
Again with the bow. Why is the bow so special?
Trends. [editline]8th June 2012[/editline] Do you not know economy?
its called marketing theyre trying to follow a trend that some games like half-life have an ~insane~ weapon that becomes the signature weapon of the series sad thing is, the bow is only introduced in this game when previously you had to use normal guns
Suddenly the aliens turn into dinosaurs and the game is a secret prequel to Turok
Hey you know what's a really good nearly silent weapon? A gun. With a silencer.
If they make it anything like the first half of Crysis it would be fun. Hell, somebody needs to make a cross between Crysis and Just Cause 2.
I really don't understand the complaints. A game can be linear, free roam, semi-linear, whatever the god damn dumb name you want to give it, all I care about is if it is FUN. I remember Crysis 1 being generally linear anyways, and gave no real reason to break away from ONE path.
Every game with an objective to reach can be described as linear. You've got a thing to do, and only a limited amount of options based upon the engine code that's provided for you. But the difference is: In Crysis, you could decide to play out (Most of the earlier) stuff in a GTA-style. You could steal a boat and gun people down, or coerce everyone into a building and punch it until it collapses on their heads, or silently kill everyone. Or just not bother and move on. That is still linear, because unless you cheat/hack the game, there are only certain things you can do. But it's a mile of difference between that and 'you can take three distinctly designed pathways, and that's about it, since we have no random stuff.'
I always thought that Crysis 2 was really underrated. I really liked it. :( [editline]8th June 2012[/editline] And for those of you bitching about the bow, read the article:
However, thanks to the slick-looking compound bow I've been hearing so much about, I uncloaked far less frequently. It's a design nod to the stealthy player, and one that comes off quite well. Normally, firing a weapon in a Crysis game while cloaked immediately renders you visible and temporarily depletes the nanosuit's energy supply. While the bow still takes a bit of the energy bar when it's fired cloaked, it's not much. With it, I was usually able to get off a couple of undetected shots before I had to hide and recharge. It's subtle, but it really improves the experience for those who like to play stealthily.

because a bow is much quieter than a silenced gun seriously, that is good enough reason
but the game is based on future technology for christ sake there is ALIENS, why not just make a weapon that propels arrow like objects, that is just as fun. Make it where you can combine rounds, to make explosive arrows or some shit not a bloody compound bow from cowboy and indian movies, shit.
This is weird... Crysis was planned as a trilogy... After Crysis 2 they said they would need 2 more games, and it will be 4 games alltogether... Now they are back at saying its only 3 games?
