So my dad has a virus on his computer and AVG free failed to detected it. Is there any program i can use to scan for the virus and remove it from a flash drive? The virus prevents him from using an internet browser and it constantly flashes these security alerts that he has a virus and needs to XP Security something to fix it. Any suggestion on how to fix this besides wiping the drive (since all he needs really is a browser and the software to connect to work)?

You can also put the drive as a slave for another computer and fix it from there.
McAfee stinger is what you need: http://vil.nai.com/vil/stinger/ (Download onto a USB pen and run it from his PC that way)
SUPERAntiSpyware has a portable version http://www.superantispyware.com/portablescanner.html Also I've heard ClamWin is an excellent portable antivirus, although I've personally never gotten the chance to use it. http://portableapps.com/apps/utilities/clamwin_portable
