also, pcgamer really is weak for those clicks since they can't stop writing stupid articles on the game.

They do articles based on what's in the gaming news. Like how they were putting out continuous CS:GO articles last month due to the skin gambling controversy.

yeah but that's something actually worth writing about since it got into a legal matter, not "hey check out this mod for this game that a lot of people seem to hate, including us, but we still post about it anyway since it generates clicks".

What would the point be? Nothing they could say would ever be more funny than the game itself.
