Hello FP.
Once again I have a question.
Would 12GB DDR3 RAM be overkill? If so, would 6GB DDR3 do for a gaming computer?

The more it is, the better it is, IMO

You can have 128GB or RAM if you want to spend money on it, but in reality no program, game or anything supports that amount or uses that amout.

I have 6GB and it's more than enough
4GB is fine if you ask me, unless you want to run 3 copies of crysis for some reason.
If you get 4+GB of RAM, make sure you have a 64-bit OS so it's all supported.
And 4GB is enough, I would say.

That answers the question. Thank you.

Yes, thank you, I am aware of that. :)

This
and you only need 3gb at max to run things.
I have 4gb in my PC and my computer never uses it all. Max it uses is like 2.
