Is there a discernible difference between the 1 and 2 gig HD 4870's?

Is there a noticeable difference between the 1 and 2 gig HD 4870's other than cost? Or is there an alternative card I should get that's about the same price but is better? I'm not a fanboy, so either ATI or Nvidia really works.

Your only going to notice higher vid ram at high resolutions (2560 x 1600) and even then its only by a few frames if any.

I suppose it's not worth the extra $40 then, unless I decide to move my computer over to the HDTV. I had expected that there would be some use other than higher resolutions, therefore, I'll keep listening.

HDTV's tend to be around 1920*1080 at most, so I doubt it's even worth it then.

Id just get the 1gb. Not worth the $40 IMO.
No difference unless you're at 1920x1200 with a lot of AA and AF, and even then you're going to see 5 FPS tops.
It's not worth the price difference.
