I was feeling like I needed some nostalgia so I recently purchased a PlayStation 2 and I've been looking for games to buy. What are some games that I definitley need to pick up?
I bought Twisted Metal, Metal Gear Solid 2, Kingdom Hearts 1 + 2, Thrillville and some Matrix games. I already have the classics such as Jak and Daxter and Ratchet and Clank, but I just wanted to see what you guys recommend.
how about god of war and god of war 2?
Should I get Silent Hill 2? Which one is the best of the series?

Silent Hill 2 and 3 are really good. Even though it's PS1, I'd get Silent Hill 1 as well, it's really great as well.
Sly 1-3 are games you should definitely pick up, but if you can only get 1 of 3 get #2.

It's a difficult third person shooter with some Dark Souls elements, but dumbed down for children.

400 rivals to race, over 100 cars to choose from and an addictive gameplay.

Also nearly every other Spongebob game for the system. They are masterpieces. Especially Creature From The Krusty Krab.
Also get the other Nickelodeon games by THQ, (Jimmy Neutron, Nicktoons, Fairly Oddparents, etc.)

Simpsons Games.
Spider-Man 2.
Lego games.
Also, great choice on Thrillville. Sad that its a dead series. I want a HD Remake of "Off The Rails" :cry:

Seriously though, this is a good game made by R* San Diego.

If you're into JRPGs, Radiata Stories is awesome. Real time combat and you can recruit almost every single NPC in the game into your party.

AKA "Ratchet: Deadlocked" over here in North America. But really, all 4 ratchet and clank games, if you can find copies. :p The Destroy All Humans series was pretty good, as was StarWars: Battlefront. God of War was a decent series as well, as long as you don't mind QTE's out the ass.
Oh! Also GTA: San Andreas just for the novelty, which was by far the funnest for cheats. :p Riot mode anyone?
Tony Hawk 3 and 4 are excellent! Underground 1 and 2 are good, American Wasteland is okay...

Get the Legacy Collection for PS3 instead if you have a PS3, though. Or the HD Collection for 360 plus MGS1 for your PS2.
