• What do you guys think of a game by facepunch?

After reading some posts in a bunch of threads about games, I realized that the facepunch forums is full of talented folk. We've got plenty of programmers and 3D artists and level designers! So hey, why don't we all team up and make one hell of a game? We could come up with a single idea for a game, and get everybody to work on it. It could be really bloody awesome, or really retarded. I'm actually quite curious about the result! I'm currently working on a platformer base on unity. Will post media as we progress. Maybe we could make Fuck Shit Up, or some other random shit. What do you guys think?
I'll totally join if I can be the 'ideas guys' and design story and stuff

I remember the one and two week projects that were hosted a couple years ago, and those turned out neat. Should be fun to see what we could make if we didnt have a time limit

Why not be less ambitious and make a 2d game? I have a feeling unless it's a small mod or something it will totally end up dead if it's in 3d. Why not do a 2d game where assets are way easier to make? I would be down for a CYOA series that starts with a newbie member joining Facepunch and rising to modhood by the end of it all.
Anyway, FSU would be the perfect debut game when the technology allows it.. With enough money thrown at whoever's face, even the name 'Fuck Shit Up' could remain unchanged when it hits the markets.

"A game made by facepunch" always tends to fall apart because, as this thread shows, it just turns into a flood of Ideas Guys spouting their Ideas. At least reply #1 was honest enough to admit it. The thing is, plenty of people on FP already make their own games. The people who know how to code and shit are already doing it, and making their own games that they want to make for themselves. They aren't just sitting on their hands, waiting for a horde of ideas guys to order them to create something THEY want.

What would be your forte? If you're gonna program or design or whatever you should probably let people know what your skills are.
