Please tell me this is not what it looks like. My house is one of the cleanest, most organized houses you could ever be in. There is never food left out, I never have dirty floors, etc. And to top it, this is my bedroom, the third story master suite of my house. Three stories up from the ground. And there's no evidence of these on the first two floors. Background: I've seen at least one of these every day for the past 2 weeks, but slightly different, like, some are uber tiny with slightly diff. coloration, and some are as big as a thumbnail. If it matters, there's attic entrances in the form of bookshelves in my room, but the only area I see them is by the attic right here next to my desk, like, 2 feet away. Thing is, there's only clothes and halloween decorations stored in it. That's it. Regardless, I'm scared to open it. :ohdear: [IMG_thumb]http://i52.tinypic.com/2hrmqyx.jpg[/IMG_thumb] [IMG_thumb]http://i52.tinypic.com/1zccqhk.jpg[/IMG_thumb] [IMG_thumb]http://i51.tinypic.com/11jm35i.jpg[/IMG_thumb] I keep my house cleaner than a fucking hospital :(
Everyone has them. It's okay. You'll be surprised what's in your house that you don't actually know about.
Oh, here's a fun fact. Whatever the hell it is, when a camera flash goes off, they instantly freeze, then wriggle around like they've been tasered. Made me feel bad :(
Well, you just flashed a light that is the equivalent of the sun, in their faces. I don't blame them.
Looks like the average cockroach.
They're German cockroach nymphs, get on it or they'll be German cockroaches soon. There's no food. And will it be easy for an exterminator to get rid of at this stage? I only see one or 2 at most a day. Edit: Wow, my camera takes better photos than that. I should submit mine I took of it.
I don't really know anything about cockroaches, I just recognized the body and head as a cockroach. Looking at it's back pattern more it may be an Asian cockroach, they look really similar: Asian cockroach:
If you've had a flood recently, or tons of rain, then they may be water roaches, google it up. We never saw anything of the sort until after the flood.
If you've had a flood recently, or tons of rain, then they may be water roaches, google it up. We never saw anything of the sort until after the flood.
We had a shit ton of rain for the last week, but how would that explain why they are only on the third floor of my house, my master suite bedroom? :ohdear: Also, any advice on how to sleep guys? I haven't slept in close to 4 days. I just get itchy feelings and get back up. I've also consumed close to a pallet of monster energy drinks, because I don't want to sleep.
Do water cockroaches refer to a specific species or the reason they come in? I Googled it and it just came up with cockroaches.
I'm not completely sure, I just know that we had a whole influx of them after a huge flood one time down here in my city. But, we found some effective ways of killing the buggers without doom-hammer shit-type things, such as spraying 409 on their backs, because they breathe through their backs. You can also use any other cleaning things, but 409 works quickly.
[img_thumb]http://i52.tinypic.com/1zccqhk.jpg[/img_thumb]
It looks so cute like this !
Fun fact: When you sleep, tons of bugs crawl all over you.
The German cockroach is very successful at establishing an ecological niche in buildings, and is very hardy and resilient against attempts at pest control. This is because of the large number of nymphs produced from each egg case, the short period between birth and sexual maturity, and their ability to easily hide due to their small size
OP you better do something quick or you will have cockroaches all over your house.
bugs in OP are beautiful wow :3:
Reminds me of this thread: http://www.facepunch.com/showthread.php?1006585-I-accidentally-killed-a-bug...by-taking-it-s-photo
You know what? After the first photo, and the little bout of what seemed like epilepsy, it did die. :ohdear: I am strangely saddened by this, even though they are pests. :(
I captured a cockroach into a jar and flushed it down the toilet.
I captured a cockroach into a jar and flushed it down the toilet.
That's possibly the worst solution Ever. That bastard'll be back before you know it, and guess what.. he isn't even going to wash his toilet-water-wet feet..
