I can tell, is it your first time on the internet too?

Here's an easy way:
1. Go into GMod,
2. On the main menu go in to options,
3. then keyboard,
4. then at the bottom click the advanced button,
5. then click "enable console"
6. and press the ` button (its under escape)

It works only with American keyboard.
So if you have ö ä å or russian lettered keayboard you cant do it with ~.

Go to the "My games" tab in Steam. Right click on Garry's mod, right click it and choose "properties", when in properties, click "Launch Options..." And in there, enter " -console " (Without the " 's )
