Figured I'd ask here, does anybody know of any games that have special effects during firefights like the first FEAR?
Some simple examples are excessive sparks that throw shadows around the room, smoke that fills the room after firefights, papers that get ripped to shreds, etc.
I know all the SMOD-based mods do similar stuff like this with HL2, as well as Underhell. I'm just curious if any games exist that have stuff like this, because I can't seem to find them.
Alternatively, if you know of any mods for HL2, or any other game really that isn't SMOD or UH that does this kind of thing and also maybe has cool experimental weapons you could mention those as well.
I'm playing FEAR right now and its just got me curious, because not many other games manage to have such visceral combat and make you feel like every fight makes an impact on your
surroundings, even if technically it's just flickering lights, offset bullet decals and excessive particle effects.

Well I have BF3 + premium, I was thinking more singleplayer focused games, though I suppose CQ does make sense as it is the kind of things I'm talking about.
Have you looked into the sequels? Never played the second, but i believe the third had a fair bit of fightfight effects.
I heard the third was a p. bad game overall though.
The second game I thought was pretty good, and the mechanics were still pretty tight but the effects were pretty much all gone which disappointed the hell out of me.
Mirror's Edge still has the best cloth/plastic shredding I've ever seen. You have to have PhysX on for it though.
I don't think it has anything else you listed.

Second F.E.A.R. still has them. Sadly, there's also too much blur.

Super hardmode Smod is pretty intense.
If you want to have sex with the light system, try any of the slav games. They are hardcore on that shit.
