Instead of ripping the micspam I wanted from youtube, I did it with fraps on newgrounds. Now I've got an avi file and no idea how to save the audio into a file I can convert into the right micspam format. (mp3 or wav)
Any help?
Audacity. Just click File>Open and select your .avi video and it will appear in the timeline as audio only. Then just convert it to .wav or .mp3.

Have fun.

Tried doing that, just has a really long clusterfuck of sounds for the duration of the avi.
In XP (and probably other versions of windows with some small changes), go to volume control > options > properties > recording > select mono out (it may have a different name on your computer) > play the sound and record in a regular microphone recording program > save results

I can't find such an option on Windows 7.
1. Get Audacity
2. Get "Virtual Audio Cable" (Free-demo)
3. Set Audacity's recording settings to Virual Audio Cable (Maybe called "Line 1")
4. Open your favorite video-player program (VLC is good)
5. Set its setting to output audio to Line 1.
6. Start recording in Audacity, then start the video.
7. ???
8. PROFIT!
Sorry this is so hard to follow, but the most common ways to record doesn't seem to work.
