Who cares
Say what you will about Cook, the man isn't Jobs. Jobs reinvested his entire salary save a dollar into the company, which says a lot about what he thought of Apple. Cook definitely sees it as more of a business, and I think his salary reflects that. Not that Cook has any obligation to take the $1 salary, and to insist he do so would be ridiculous. The company isn't his passion, he's just the guy steering the ship right now. Apple products are like Call of Duty games and have been since I would say the iPod. They make a decent product, over charge for it, and then re-make it 8 times for the same outrageous price every time, and people have just jumped on it like the Beats by Dre headphones. They're shitty over priced headphones but it's only about being seen with them

The thing is, those who prefer iOS don't have much of a choice. It's different for headphones that are all pretty much alike.
