This should be interesting.
Hm. I kinda feel sorry for Oculus Rift devs. Their hardware's being obsoleted by the competition before it even has a chance to sell/ make the developers the money they deserve for literally making VR an actual thing. Like literally, all Valve needs to do is make it look cool and make it sound a better option, and you'll have the majority of gamers holding off buying the Oculus Rift, to wait for Valve's offering.

Also, more competetion the better it is for the customer. It's been always like this.

A lot of these technologies are being developed jointly between the various companies, and don't forget that John Carmack is a pretty smart guy. Oculus has a lot of things going for it.
The only problem I'm seeing with this is that I'll have to choose.
It's bandwagon time for VR.
I'm just going to have a shelf full of these things in like 10 years aren't I?
Well we already knew they had such prototypes and with that in mind it wasn't likely they pushed TF2 integration etc solely because they're huge Oculus fanboys. And since the article didn't specify anything concrete about it - hardware, release date, price point, how it looks - I'd hardly call this a reveal. More like a nod of "yep, still working on it."
It's bandwagon time for VR.
This ain't exactly the kinda business you can just swiftly hop into. To develop these things, they take time. Even if it's just a prototype you're confident enough to share with devs to discuss in detail how to build for it.

Sony have said they are going to be building a VR set also, now Valve, Microsoft will be next if they haven't already announced one. It's just greedy big companies that annoy me, once they have seen the success of Oculas Rift, they want in on it ONLY after the risk has been taken by others. I love Valve and good on them for doing it, but just leave it to Oculas Rift now, there is no need for others.
Jesus guys do you not understand how competition works, this is the real world corporations just about only goal is to make a profit [editline]20th November 2013[/editline] Just because you like something more doesn't mean that people shouldn't try to compete and force innovation
Assuming Valve makes a VR thing exclusive for the Steambox... And I get a Steambox... I CAN BRAG TO ALL MY FRIENDS WITH THEIR XBOX1s/PS4s THAT THEY ARE 2 DIMENSIONAL PEASANTS!

This somewhat scares me because it makes me wonder if developers might start locking certain games to certain VR headsets.
