No luck in Ubisoft's DRM and me playing Splinter Cell Conviction
15 replies, posted
I've just finished installing this game and registered a account. I thought everything should be fine as I'm connected to the internet. But no, Ubisoft's DRM said I'm not connected yadi yada. My ISP is with Bell Canada and their Modem is a Router as well.
So here's the screen where you enter a IP to change router settings
And here's a screenie on the error I get whenever logging into Ubisoft Game Launcher
If you need me to provide any more information, feel free to ask. If I don't know where do obtain the screenshot I shall ask.
please don't take this seriously as what I think Ubisoft's DRM is
Ubisoft DRM: Guy in white shirt
Pirates: Guy sitting next to guy in white shirt
Paying Customer: Man sitting behind white shirt guy

That was completely pointless.
C:\Program Files(x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher should have a config file.
[ProxySettings]
ProxyHost=proxyhostname:proxyport
OverrideProxySettings=1
This is probably in it.
Set OverrideProxySettings to 0.
Now the problem is this

http://static3.cdn.ubi.com/orbit/satellitelist/satellitelist.txt
can you reach this file?
Yes, and i get these
95.211.115.4
95.211.115.5
95.211.115.7
94.236.62.145
94.236.62.146
94.236.78.144
Is it blocked by any firewalls? The game launcher AND the game?
Try adding both as exceptions and try again
How the heck do I do that? I'm with Comodo antivirus with the Windows default firewall
OK, found it. And this is what I have
Delete and re-add them by browsing for them
still isn't fixing the connection problem
I'm slowly running out of ideas. Try renaming the config file so it generates a new one.
Rename what?
the config file of ubisoft game launcher that you changed earlier.

and if that doesn't work, reinstall the game launcher.

Since you're playing it right now I'll assume it's fixed
