Metroid prime is up in there in my top 3 games ever. I'd love to see them come back to the series
More bounty hunters, that's a great idea
I actually like that Retro are not only doing Metroid, I'd even let them have a go on another Nintendo series (Star Fox or F-Zero maybe?). Maybe they could even work on a new franchise.

I want retro to show their talents on a new IP. Not taking old ideas and improving them.
A good thing that Retro isn't Team Ninja. So long as the next Metroid is nothing like "Other M", or even goes as far to ignore that particular instalment, things could turn out alright. Still, new IPs are usually a step in the right direction, even if certain older IPs are particularly lucrative.
As far as I know, Metroid Prime came about from Shigeru Miyamoto going to Retro and seeing the work they were doing on a first person open world game and thinking it was good for a Metroid, so then it was retooled into Prime. If Retro don't feel like revisiting a first person Metroid cause the Prime trilogy is finished, then I'd like to see them go back to their original idea they had before Prime. It still boggles my mind that no one has tried to make another First Person Metroidvania since Prime. Alternatively, seeing how good they are with 2D platformer level design, a 2D Metroid on the 3DS made by them would be pretty nice I could imagine.

I wish they could at least port over something like Super Metroid, as that's one of my favorite games to this day.
@The Stills: you've heared wrong. At the beginning the game even was in thirdperson perspective and at this time it allready was a Metroid Title. Ofc. Miamoto and Nintendo still had a lot of influence on the game, but they really started it as a Metroid Game. I'd love to see another Metroid from Retro, no matter if it's FPS or even 2D style. But i'd prefer a prime-like WiiU game that shows the capabilities of the console.
they ended MP3 with a cliffhanger of sorts, i hope they bother to explain [sp]sylux's ship following samus[/sp] at some point
