I'm running Arch on an HP dv5-t laptop with an nvidia graphics card and I can't get suspend to work.
I posted a thread about it on the Arch forums, but I haven't gotten a reply yet so I figured I'd ask here too: http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=94700
Any one have any ideas?
EDIT: Something to point out: I used Gentoo before I switched to Arch and suspend worked perfectly without having to configure anything.
How does it "not work". Does it attempt to enter S3, or just sit and do nothing? Make sure suspend support is built into your kernel.
When I try to enter suspend the backlight turns off for a second(everything else still on) then back on to a black screen with a blinking cursor in the upper left.
It's possible that the precompiled kernel in Arch just doesn't fully support your system.
I guess that's possible, but I've never had to do anything special with the kernel config to get it working in gentoo.
